The rubber tree is a tall plant with a thick stem and strong roots that penetrate deep into the ground. It is the primary source of natural rubber. The bark of the tree is carefully cut to allow the white latex to flow into a container for collection.

Rubber trees are commonly found in southern Nigeria, particularly in Edo State, where rubber production is an important agricultural activity.
